At 90 minutes, there’s time for your little one to settle, play, explore and enjoy each part of the experience at their own pace.

- Professional First Birthday Portrait & Cake Smash Session : 90-minute First Birthday Session jam-packed with four adorable stages, each filled with fun, laughter, and perfect photo moments:
- Classic & Timeless Portraits: We start the celebration with your baby looking their sweetest in a cute outfit for timeless portraits you’ll treasure forever.
- Fun & Games with Balloons: Next up, we bring in colourful balloons to spark pure joy! Watch as your little one’s face lights up with wonder and excitement as they interact, play, and explore the balloons and a few games too!
- Cake Smash Fun! Here’s where it gets messy (and amazing!)—let them dive in and explore a delicious cake, making memories that are as sweet as the icing on their hands!
- Bath Time Finale: We end with an adorable bath in our roll-top tub, complete with bubbles and rubber duckies, leaving your baby as happy and clean as can be! 🛁 Perfect for capturing those genuine giggles and big smiles!
- Choice of up to three outfits; We know it’s hard to choose just one favourite! Bring your babies outfit for three different looks and we’ll complement the look with our backdrops. When we have our chat on the phone we’ll help guide you with what to bring.
- £75 Studio Gift Certificate: To use towards the purchase of beautiful artwork that turns your house into a home.(for the avoidance of doubt this gift certificate cannot be used towards Digital Collections).

After your session, you’ll view your full selection and choose from our artwork and portrait options.

There’s no minimum spend — you simply purchase what you love.

I really hoped that Theo would smash up the cake and dive right in. And he did!! The cake didn’t stand a chance. He loved the balloons too, and as for splash time, he splashed and giggled to his hearts content. One very happy birthday boy. The whole experience was amazing and the photos captured the happiness and love we have for our Theo.

Your First Birthday Portrait Experience
A fun filled First Birthday session for your baby complete with balloons and cake!
We start the experience with classic First Birthday Portraits in your chosen birthday outfit. Following on we then play with balloons and finish up with your baby smashing their cake!
After baby has been cleaned up we will also include portraits in our baby sized roll top bath, complete with bubbles and rubber ducks (optional!).
You only get one First Birthday, and this is the perfect, fun-filled way to celebrate and capture the moment.

Step 1 - Reserve Your Session
The first thing you need to do is click any of the blue buttons. This will take you to a form and checkout pages to book your experience. Your First Birthday Portrait Experience fee of £65 is required to reserve your experience.
Step 2 - We'll Call You
Once your payment has been successful, we’ll call you within 24 business hours.
On the call we’ll answer any questions you may have and talk to you about the experience you’re about to enjoy!
Step 3 - Enjoy The Experience
Once your First Birthday Portrait Experience is booked, get ready to enjoy your baby’s first birthday and watch them Smash That Cake!
Relax! We know it is hard to do that as a mum, but trust me … we have everything under control to provide you and your baby the most amazing birthday experience!

The photographer is so lovely, keeping in touch with phone calls and emails, and sent me a really helpful prep guide so I knew exactly what to expect. Once the big day arrives you are greeted at the door with a friendly smile and a personalised welcome sign (which I took a photo of!), so sweet!
She was patient and sweet with my daughter. It was a fantastic experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it, especially Daisy. The whole morning was brilliant and we were made to feel so at ease. The props and background were beautifully coordinated, everything you need for the perfect portrait session! Within a week of my session, my images were ready to see and choose my favourites to order. I loved so many photos that I upgraded my order.

Our experience was so magical and everything I wanted it to be and much more. I would highly recommend for your baby’s first birthday experience! Helen was so lovely and kept in touch all the way from booking the photoshoot up to receiving the portraits. Helen was super flexible and understanding when I had to reschedule my baby’s shoot. She made sure all the colours went nicely together and went the extra mile with a welcoming sign which was such a lovely touch. Props were amazing too. Brody especially loved the bathtub and ducks. The beautiful cake was provided and we got to take it home afterwards, it was delicious. During the shoot Helen was so patient with Brody, particularly when it came to the actual cake smash. Brody didn’t like that part much but she made it work. We watched a beautiful slideshow of his portraits at the design appointment, and it made me cry (happy tears of course).

Myla’s First Birthday experience was so lovely. It felt like Myla stopped smiling when the camera was out so I was amazed at the photos the photographer captured, and I absolutely love the finished results. A few days after the session we celebrated Myla's first birthday. Such a special occasion and I’m so pleased we have these portraits to save for her, so that she will know how much she was loved and celebrated on her very special first birthday!

How do we book our session and can we book on weekends?
Click on any of the blue buttons on this website and fill out the information form. Once you hit submit you can either pay for your session and reserve your session right away, or wait for us to call you within 24 business hours to chat with you and book on the phone.
Yes! We photograph on select weekends. These dates fill up fast! FYI some weekends in November & December are reserved for Christmas and Holiday themed sessions. If your baby’s birthday is around this time, you will need to book your session on a weekday.
My baby isn't One for a few months yet, is it too early to book?
Not at all! It’s never too early to reserve your date, especially if you want to have the beautiful portraits on display at their birthday party, and it’s a great idea to book your session early to ensure you secure the date you want.
Baby’s birthday may be a little way off yet, but we know you’ll be so busy in the lead up to their special birthday you might forget you wanted to do this! We’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have and chat to you about how the First Birthday experience works. By reserving now you have the best chance of securing your Baby’s First Birthday Portraits session on the perfect day to suit you!
What Is The Best Time Of Day For My Baby?
Book your session time around naps! A sleepy or cranky baby does not enjoy their session. Please book your session time according to your baby’s nap time!
The morning or afternoon appointment times displayed on our booking page are entirely adaptable to accommodate your baby’s nap schedule and can be confirmed after booking, as we schedule a maximum of two first birthday experiences in a single day.
Do I Have To Bring The Cake?
No!! We know you are a busy mum and have lots to do! This is one way we can remove the stress from your day. When we chat on the phone to plan your session, we will discuss colours and themes, and then we will get your cake ordered from our local cake maker! Yes…. your baby will get to eat the most delicious freshly made cake! Don’t worry … we won’t judge if you sneak a taste or finish their cake after the session is over!
Does my baby have to be One already for this experience?
No!! You are not limited to a specific timeframe for this portrait experience. We understand that as busy parents, finding the perfect date can be challenging. Feel free to choose a date that aligns with your diaries and works best for both of you. It’s completely fine if the experience is booked a few weeks before or after your baby’s actual First Birthday. The important thing is that you can create cherished memories together of this precious birthday.
Is there an opportunity for us to be in a photograph too?
Yes, with our Full First Birthday Celebration Portrait Experience you can. It’s your celebration too, and a momentous occasion for you as parents. Including yourselves in a first birthday portrait photograph is an incredibly heartfelt opportunity. It allows you to capture and cherish the special moment together with your child and symbolises the love, joy and pride that you have experienced throughout this incredible journey of parenthood.
Terms & Conditions
- The Portrait Experience Fee once booked is non-refundable.
- Design Consultation & Ordering Appointments are held at the studio on a separate day after the portrait experience.
- Photographs and/or products are not included in the session fee unless otherwise stated.
