… and they were off… like two pocket-rockets let loose, typically in opposite directions. And so the fun started! With Dad, Simon, keeping an eye on Olivia who was only interested in going the complete opposite direction to where she was pointed, and Aiden zooming around in another.
What had these two eaten for Breakfast… energy levels were off the charts!
Last Sunday we met the family of four at Fleet pond woods. Bright skies, golden leaves on the trees, and a crisp feel in the air, we were headed into the woods during late Autumn. Just a short stroll down the woodland path and the kids were brimming with excitement – “where are we going?”, “Why are we here?” they asked. “For some fun and to create some nice photographs” we said, “we are going to explore the woods”.
Arriving at ‘our little spot in the woods’ we laid down our stuff, and Almash and Simon (mum and dad), parked up the buggy loaded with changes of clothes, snacks and toys. No sooner that we’d done that, and…
… they were off… like two pocket-rockets let loose; typically in opposite directions. And so the fun started! With Dad, Simon, keeping an eye on Olivia who was only interested in going in the complete opposite direction to where she was pointed, and Aiden zooming around in another.
What had these two eaten for Breakfast… the energy levels were off the charts!
Little Olivia was wildly running around the woods, exploring; touching the leaves and the trees and wanting to investigate the fallen golden and russet coloured leaves and, oh, ‘what’s down that path?’… if only she could be free to wander off….
Aiden, also loaded with boundless energy was happy playing hide and seek with mum, or sitting on his bright red seat and playing with his bright and colourful shiny new umbrella…. All the while not letting go of his lollipop.
‘Sharing’ the umbrella proved a lesson in diplomacy as of course both wanted to be playing with it. Needless to say they both got their fare share.
Within a fairly short space of time, our two little energy warriors had burned themselves out from all the excitement; and like the well-known Duracell advert with the bunnies… they were worn out and it was time to head home.
A word from the photographer about autumn family photo sessions;
We don’t make these sessions out to feel like a photo shoot, rather we see it that we are going out for the morning with the family, being part of their day and capturing it as it unfolds, with a little coercing here and there to ensure we create great photographs. Above all we make it fun and turn the time with the children into a game. We played some hide n’seek, and generally let them enjoy the woodland surroundings – after all they’d come here to have fun.
Autumn is a wonderful time of the year to get the family together for an autumn family photo session. Photos like these really capture the character of your family and offer something different to the annual school or nursery photo.
